The mansion in Nagycenk, once home to Count István Széchenyi—one of the most outstanding figures in Hungarian history—is the place that most faithfully preserves the spirit and ideals of the “Greatest Hungarian.”
The renewed exhibition presents Count István Széchenyi both as a statesman and as a private individual. His life’s work and his home are equally brought to life within the spaces of the mansion. The two themes, representing distinct worlds, are reflected through two different exhibition atmospheres, while maintaining a unifying narrative thread that runs throughout the entire exhibition and the whole mansion complex, enhanced by engaging and interactive elements.
